Stop Forum Spam and the SFS Module
Recently, one of my test sites was discovered by a SpamBot! Looking through the sites stats, I did a Google search on the IP address and discovered mention of it on a website called "Stop Forum Spam". Further investigations lead me to the sites API and the downloads page. Although there were several interfaces to the API, there wasn't one written in Perl, so I decided to write one!
With the help of Keith Grant (aka KEG), a member of the site who kindly devised the "Spammer Probability Formula", this module can not only help to protect your WebAPP powered site from spammers, but could also be retrofitted to any Perl based Forum script or CMS.

I have been a developer for the Web Content Management System "WebAPP" since 2002. My involvement in the project has varied over the years ranging from a basic user to Lead Developer. These days, I tend to concentrate on developing custom modules and acting as a "one-man" steering committee for the project.
More recently I have not only been working on my own microCMS which I hope to release in the Spring, but also a couple of custom modules to allow the WebAPP system to incorporate both Gravatars and to check the Stop Forum Spam database.
